Definition of Burrowhead



What does the term "Burrowhead" mean in the world of football? What is meant by the term "Burrowhead"?

"Burrowhead" is a term that has been jokingly introduced by fans of the Cincinnati Bengals, as they are implying that their quarterback, Joe Burrow, owns the Kansas City Chiefs in their home stadium (Arrowhead Stadium).

The favored Chiefs got off to a tremendous start, as they were leading the game 21-3 with five minutes left in the third quarter. They seemed to have things under control.

At this point, Joe Burrow and the Bengals reversed the momentum. By the end of the third quarter, the game was tied, with Burrow having tossed touchdown passes to Samaje Perine and Ja'Marr Chase.

The game went into overtime, where the Bengals eventually won by a score of 27-24.

As a result of this game, Bengals fans have dubbed Arrowhead Stadium "Burrowhead".

The two teams are squaring off again in the AFC Championship game in 2023.

Chiefs fans believe that their team will use the "Burrowhead" meme as motivation, while Bengals fans believe that this will just result in Joe Burrow and the Bengals getting even more into the heads of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

One thing is for sure - this likely won't be the last time that the Bengals and Chiefs meet up deep into the playoffs.
