Here are some sample "Top 5" odds from an upcoming golf tournament:

So, if you think that Justin Thomas will finish in the top 5 of the tournament, you can bet on him to do so at +550, which means that you will make $550 in profit for every $100 that you wager.

Now, if you want to bet on a player to finish in the top 10, or even the top 40, their odds will become worse.

For instance, Justin Thomas might be +550 to finish in the top 5, but +375 to finish in the top 10 and even money to finish in the top 40.

Top 5, Top 10, Top 20 and Top 40 tend to be the most common finishing position groups that sportsbooks will offer.
