The Freestyle Chess Summit is a series of elite chess tournaments initiated by former World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen and entrepreneur Jan Henric Buettner. These events focus on Freestyle Chess, also known as Chess960 or Fischer Random Chess, where the starting positions of pieces are randomized, emphasizing creativity and reducing reliance on memorized openings.

The summit features top-ranked players, including members of the newly formed Freestyle Chess Players Club (FCPC). This club consists of elite players with an ELO rating above 2725, ensuring high-level competition.
