In photo: Tom Brady throwing a pass. How it works is: the sportsbook will set a line for a quarterback's longest pass completion of the game in yards, and you can bet on whether the QB's longest completion will be higher or lower than this amount.

For instance - let's say that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are playing the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football.

The odds for Tom Brady's longest pass completion might look like this:

35.5 Yards

Over 35.5 Yards, -110
Under 35.5 Yards, -110

So, if you think that Brady will throw a completed pass for 36 yards or more over the course of the game, you'd want to take the over.

If you think that he won't throw a completed pass of at least 36 yards, you'd want to take the under.
