What does the term "team totals" mean in the world of sports betting? What is meant by the term "team totals"?

In the world of sports betting, "team totals" refers to when you are betting on how many points a certain team will score in a certain period of time, whether that's the entire game or a half/quarter of play.

What is Team Totals when it comes to betting on sports? The King explains the meaning and provides an example as it relates to American football. So, for instance, if you are betting on the NFL, a team total might look like this:

New England Patriots, 22.5 points

Over 22.5 points, -110
Under 22.5 points, -110

So, if you think that the New England Patriots will score over 22.5 points ovewr the entirety of the game, you'd want to bet the "over".

On the other hand, if you think that they won't put many points on the board, you'd want to take the under.

Team totals can apply to halfs or quarters of play as well.

Let's switch over to basketball.

A team total might look like this:

Los Angeles Lakers, 31.5 points, 1st quarter

Over 31.5 points, -110
Under 31.5 points, -110

So, if you think that the Lakers will get off to a slow start because they have a number of older players, you'd want to take the under.

In this case, the bet will be marked as a winner or loser at the end of the first quarter.
