Definition of Trixie Bet

In sports betting, a "trixie bet" is a type of bet that includes:

Three Doubles
1 Treble

The King explains the meaning of the sports betting term Trixie Bet. What is it and how does it work? So, with a trixie bet, you need to select three different outcomes. For instance:

Manchester United to Win
Chelsea/Tottenham to Draw
Manchester City to Win

These three selections will create three doubles:

Manchester United to Win
Chelsea/Tottenham to Draw

Manchester United to Win
Manchester City To Win

Chelsea/Tottenham to Draw
Manchester City to Win

and one treble:

Manchester United to Win/Manchester City to Win/Chelsea-Tottenham to Draw

So, there will be a total of four bets on this ticket. Each bet will stand on its own, and you will need to figure out how much you want to wager. You can choose to wager a specific amount per bet (say, £1) or a total amount for the ticket that will be divided by the four different bets (£10 for the ticket, which would mean £2.50 per bet).

The advantage of a "trixie bet" is that you can get one of your selections wrong and still make money from the ticket, which is different from your standard accumulator.

So, if Manchester United loses but you get the other two outcomes correct, you will still get paid from the Manchester City/Chelsea-Tottenham double.

With a traditional accumulator, the Manchester United loss would cost you your entire ticket.
