Over his career, Ali also earned the nicknames "Mr. Fantastic" and "Rubber-band Man", first one in relation to his superb skills on the court and the latter in reference to his lean physique and lanky build. Ali is able to get Everything on the squash court.

Ali Farag has held the World No. 1 ranking in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Rankings, first reaching it in 2019. Over his career, Farag has won numerous PSA titles, including prestigious tournaments like the US Open and the British Open.

Farag is known for his sportsmanship and fair play on the court. He has been praised on multiple occasions for his honesty during matches, often conceding points when he feels a referee's decision was incorrect in his favor.
