Sports Nicknames - Cobra, Trezegol



David Trezeguet is a retired French footballer, an exceptional goal-scorer during his time playing for Monaco, Juventus and the national team.

Nicknamed "Trezegol" for his skill of finding the back of the net, he was known for his precise finishing and excellent positioning.

He was a classic "fox in the box" because of his ability to score from close range. Trezeguet was also nicknamed "Cobra" for his powerful and precise headers that struck swiftly like a snake.

He began his professional career with AS Monaco, winning French league titles in 1997 and 2000 playing alongside Thierry Henry. In 2000, he transferred to Juventus, where he scored 138 goals in 245 appearances, won two Serie A titles, and became the league's top scorer in the 2001/02 season.

For the French national team, Trezeguet scored 34 goals in 71 matches between 1998 and 2008. His most memorable moment was scoring the golden goal in the Euro 2000 final against Italy, securing a 2-1 victory and making France the simultaneous holders of the World Cup and European Championship.
