Edwin van der Sar is considered one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history.

Throughout his career, he played for elite European clubs and was a key member of the Netherlands national team. Admired for his composure, leadership, and outstanding goalkeeping skills, van der Sar earned respect worldwide.

His serene demeanor on the field led to his Dutch nickname "ijskonijn," which translates to "ice rabbit."

Edwin van der Sar's career spanned over two decades, during which he played for Ajax, Juventus, Fulham, and Manchester United, and earned 130 caps for the Netherlands national team.

He began his professional journey with Ajax in 1990, winning four Eredivisie titles and the UEFA Champions League in 1995. In 1999, he moved to Juventus as their first non-Italian goalie. After two seasons in Italy, he joined Fulham in 2001. In 2005, van der Sar signed with Manchester United, achieving immense success including four Premier League titles and a UEFA Champions League victory in 2008, where he famously saved the decisive penalty against Chelsea. In England he set a Premier League record by keeping a clean sheet for 1,311 consecutive minutes.

After retiring from professional football in 2011, van der Sar transitioned into football administration, returning to Ajax in executive roles, including serving as the club's CEO.
