Sports Nicknames - Radio Jorginho

Jorge Luiz Frello Filho, aka Jorginho, is one of the best midfielders in the game of football.



Like a grand conductor, Jorginho sets the tempo of the game. He is a passing master and allows his teammates to shine by putting them in perfect scoring positions. He came into the spotlight when he moved to Napoli in 2014 and earned a big money move to Chelsea in 2018. In 2021, playing alongside N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, he was the key player on the Chelsea team that won the Champions League, as well as the Italian national team, which won the European Championship two months later. He won the UEFA Player of the Year and FIFA men's player of the year awards for those performances.

Nicknamed "Radio" by his Italian teammates because he constantly talks and gives instructions during games, Jorginho has composure, technique and intelligence. He plays well under pressure and is one of the best penalty takers in the world, having perfected his trademark hop right before he shoots the ball into the net (after sending the goalie the opposite way).
