Sports Nicknames - KD, Slim Reaper

Kevin Durant is considered by many to be the best offensive player in today's basketball. The 7-foot Brooklyn Nets forward has the ability to score at will both from deep and by driving to the hoop.



At the beginning of the 2021-22 season, the NBA's 75th anniversary, Durant was named as one of the greatest 75 players in the history of the league. Many would argue though, that he belongs among top 10.

Durant, who is known by the nicknames "KD" or "the Slim Reaper" has won two NBA Championships with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. Both seasons he was named the Finals MVP. He was also the regular-season MVP in 2013-14, when he was with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

KD is one of only five players who have won the NBA scoring title at least four times. Michael Jordan is on the top of this list with 10 titles, followed by Wilt Chamberlain with 7 and George Gervin and Allen Iverson who also have four such achievements each.

While playing in the NBA, Durant has also been a regular member of the United States national basketball team. He has won three gold medals at the Olympics in London (2012), Rio (2016) and Tokyo (2020).

KD was also a member of the US team that won the World Championship gold in 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey.
