Sports Nicknames - Cro Cop

Mirko Filipovic, known as "Cro Cop," is a retired Croatian fighter in MMA and kickboxing, competing in Pride, UFC, RIZIN, and Bellator. He is also a former member of the Croatian police special forces, hence the nickname.



He was known for his strong striking skills, especially his left head-kick. This skill led to the saying "Right leg, hospital; left leg, cemetery," which sums up his fighting style.

Filipovic gained fame in Pride, facing top fighters like Fedor Emelianenko and Wanderlei Silva.

"Cro Cop" won prestigious titles like the Pride 2006 Open Weight Grand Prix and the RIZIN Grand Prix, establishing him as a respected figure in combat sports.

He retired in 2019 and will be remembered as one of MMA's greatest heavyweights.
