Sports Nicknames - Pip, Robin, No Tippin

Scottie Pippen was a legendary Chicago Bulls basketball player, arguably the best sidekick in sports of all time.



Scottie Pippen is a Hall of Famer, who was most known for being part of a duo with Michael Jordan, who dominated the NBA for ten or so years and won six titles together.

Scottie Pippen was a central piece in the 1990s Bulls team led by coach Phil Jackson. He was energetic and an excellent all-around player. Pippen could organize an offense, shoot, rebound and guard just about anyone. In important games it was always his job to neutralize the opposing team's best player. Two other notable figures that were part of this legendary Bulls team were Dennis Rodman and Toni Kukoc.

Scottie Pippen was called "Pip" by his fans and also "Robin" because he was essentially a sidekick to Michael Jordan (who in this case was "Batman"). Outside of the basketball arena, Scottie Pippen earned the nickname "No Tippin Pippen" because he would refuse to leave tips in restaurants and clubs.
