Steve Nash was one of the best point guards in NBA history and is currently the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.

The South African-born Canadian player spent 19 seasons in the NBA playing for the Phoenix Suns, the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers. He finished fourth on the All-time assists list with 10,335 to his name. Only John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Chris Paul have recorded more assists than Nash.

Nicknamed "Captain Canada", Nash won back-to-back MVP awards in 2005 and 2006 in an era of dominance of big players.

Nash led the NBA in assists per game for five seasons and finished four seasons shooting more than 50% from the field, 40% behind the three-point line and 90% from the free-throw line.

Captain Canada made 8 All-Star appearances and three times was selected in the All-NBA First Team.

During his career, Nash represented Canada on the international scene. He won a silver medal at the 1999 FIBA AmeriCup and the bronze at the same competition two years later. He also won two silver medals from the Universiade tournaments in 1991 and 1993.

In 2020, Nash was announced as the new head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.
